Our History

Jesse's Embers was established in 1963.   We are a local family owned Steak and Seafood restaurant that has been serving Des Moines throughout the past generations.  Jesse's strives to be Des Moines' best Steakhouse.  Over the past 50 years Jesse's has built a huge network of loyal and repeat customers.  We try to make every visit better then the last, with our perfectly cooked steaks and full bar menu you are sure to leave satisfied.   Our long standing staff completes the whole experience with their charming personalities and friendly style. You will feel right at home at Jesse's.

Our Food

At Jesse's Embers we are here to exceed your expectations.  Unlike most restaurants, you get the chance to see your meal cooked on our open flame grill.   While sitting in the dining room, you can see your steak as it is prepared just for you.  Our soups and sides are also freshly prepared and handmade.   The weekly soups are made using only the finest ingrediants all cut and cooked by our inhouse chefs.  Salads are all made fresh, mixing our own salad dressings and always use hand cut lettuce.  Our daily fresh baked bread is the perfect compliment to any meal.

Our Owners

Owned and operated by Marty Scarpino and Deena Edelstein. Starting as a bartender nearly 30 years ago, Marty has taken over ownership of the business in late 2007 with partner Deena.  Unlike most restaurants, the owners are in attendance almost every day greeting customers, cleaning tables and making sure that you have the best experience possible.  Our goal is to be the best tasting, highest quality steak and seafood restaurant in Des Moines.   Over the past 50 years Jesse's has built a huge network of loyal and repeat customers.  We try to make every visit better then the last, with our perfectly cooked steaks and full bar menu you are sure to leave satisfied.
